What Does a Full Bathroom Installation Actually Involve?
A bathroom installation is not a single trade job — it is a coordinated sequence of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, tiling, and finishing that must happen in the correct order, to precise tolerances, in a confined space. Get one step wrong and the entire project suffers.
At Blue Sky Luxury Bathrooms, we manage every element under one roof. Our in-house team includes plumbers, electricians, tilers, and joiners who work together daily. This means seamless coordination, consistent quality standards, and a single point of contact for you throughout your project.
We install everything from compact ensuites and cloakrooms to large family bathrooms and luxury wet rooms. Whether you are updating a tired bathroom or stripping a room back to bare walls for a complete transformation, we handle the full scope — including waste removal, making good of adjoining rooms, and final deep cleaning.
Serving Tamworth, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Burton-on-Trent, Nuneaton, Birmingham, and surrounding areas, we have completed over 1,000 installations across the West Midlands. Every project begins with a free, no-obligation consultation at your home or at our Tamworth showroom.

The Real Cost of a Poor Bathroom Installation
A badly installed bathroom does not just look wrong — it causes structural damage. Incorrectly sealed shower trays leak into floor joists. Poor tiling allows moisture behind walls, creating hidden mould that damages plasterwork and timber framing over months.
Plumbing errors cause slow drains, persistent leaks, and premature failure of fixtures. Electrical work done without proper certification creates genuine safety hazards and can invalidate your home insurance.
Many homeowners try to save money by hiring multiple individual tradespeople — a plumber for first fix, a tiler, a separate electrician. Without a project manager coordinating their schedules and standards, the result is delays, disputes about whose responsibility problems are, and a finished bathroom that no single person is accountable for.
The most expensive bathroom installation is the one you have to do twice. Cutting corners on materials, waterproofing, or installation quality always costs more in the long run through remedial work, water damage repairs, and premature replacements.

Bathroom Installation: Materials, Methods & What to Expect
Every bathroom installation begins with a thorough assessment of the existing space. We check floor and wall conditions, confirm joist directions and loading capacity, verify drainage fall, and assess ventilation. This groundwork prevents problems that surface weeks or months after completion.
For waterproofing, we use tanking systems on all shower areas and wet rooms — not just silicone sealant. This includes liquid-applied membranes on walls and floors, pre-formed corner seals, and pipe collar seals at all penetration points. The tanking layer is the single most critical element in any bathroom and one that is most frequently skipped by less experienced installers.
Our tiling methods include full-bed adhesive application for walls and floors, ensuring complete coverage behind every tile. We use flexible, water-resistant adhesives and grouts in all wet areas. Large-format tiles are levelled with clip-and-wedge systems to eliminate lippage and produce a perfectly flat finish.
Plumbing installations use push-fit and compression fittings on copper and plastic pipework, pressure-tested before concealment. We install full-bore isolation valves on every fixture for future serviceability. Waste systems are configured with correct fall gradients and accessible rodding points.
Electrical work includes extractor fan installation, LED downlight circuits, heated mirror connections, underfloor heating wiring, and shaver socket fitting — all installed to BS 7671 wiring regulations with appropriate IP-rated fittings for bathroom zones.
We install a complete range of sanitaryware including close-coupled WCs, wall-hung WCs with concealed cisterns, back-to-wall units, freestanding baths, built-in baths, shower enclosures, wet room configurations, and walk-in shower panels. All products are sourced from established manufacturers with proven durability records.
For flooring, options include porcelain tiles, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and natural stone. We advise on slip ratings (R10/R11 for wet areas), underfloor heating compatibility, and maintenance requirements so you choose a floor that performs as well as it looks.
Our service area covers Tamworth, Lichfield, Rugeley, Swadlincote, Burton-on-Trent, Sutton Coldfield, Atherstone, Nuneaton, Birmingham, Cannock, Walsall, Coalville, Hinckley, Derby, and West Bromwich.
